I was told of a grave at Cool Springs Baptist Church that I just had to
investigate. We intend on transcibing the church cemetery as a whole when
we get the time, but we wanted to try and find this particular grave that
we had heard so much about. The story, although not substantiated, was that
this child accidently drank from a bottle that someone had filled with kerosene.
When we saw this stone it touched us deeply and I felt the need to share
it with others. Childrens graves are always a heart wrenching thing to see
but this stone was amazing and made this child come to life. She wasn't
just a name engraved on a stone, this was a little girl that was a beautiful
child whose life was cut short tragically no matter what the cause. The
fact that she died on Christmas day only adds to sorrow.
The stone has a locket, for lack of a better term that can be lifted to
reveal a picture inside. (See Below)
I can't think of a more touching stone and it reminds me that all these
children who spent such a short time on this earth were truly precious and
no different than my own children. If anyone knows the story behind this
child's tragic death please contact me so that I can post it here.
