Casper A funeral was conducted Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, by Rev. Gene Asbill and Dr. Charles Jones. Burial was in Green-Casper family cemetery, Eure. Memorial contributions may be made to University Hospice, Ahoskie, NC 27910. Mrs. Casper was a homemaker and a member of Warwick Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, J. Clinton Casper; two daughters, Thelma C. Harrell of Ahoskie and Christine Hollowell of Lawton, Okla.; a son, Wilbur Casper of Gatesville; a brother, Lloyd Monds of Gates; seven grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Lillian Morings A funeral was conducted Saturday at New Mt. Joy Worship Center. Good News Funeral Home was in charge. Wallace L. Hobbs A funeral was conducted Monday at Great Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. Jonathan C. Judy. Burial was in the church cemetery. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home was in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the Great Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Marion W. Carter, 1710 Colonial Ave., Suffolk, VA 23434. Hobbs was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a World War II Merchant Marine and Army veteran. He was also a member of the Great Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Estelle Spivey Hobbs; a daughter, Susan H. Burrough of Oakton; a sister, Melba Musgrove of Chesapeake; brothers, Pat M. Hobbs of Dale City and Marvin E. "Joe" Hobbs of Zuni; and two grandchildren. Bernice Spruill A funeral was conducted Monday at Zion U.C. of Christ. Gates County Funeral Home was in charge. Edith C. Freeman A funeral was conducted Sunday at Garrett Funeral Home Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. C. T. Edmondson. Donations may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Gatesville, NC. Mrs. Freeman was a retired school teacher and a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. She was also a member of Powellsville Women's Club. Survivors include eight nieces and nephews. Edna E. Hollowell A funeral was conducted Friday at Swindell Funeral Home by the Rev. Gene Boyce. Burial was in Cedar Wood Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Heart Association, c/o Suzi Johnson, 3015 S. Memorial Dr., Suite A, Greenville, NC 27834. She was retired from Woodard's Pharmacy as a clerk and was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Syble H. Chappell of Hobbsville; a niece and nephew. Milton L. Lane Sr. A graveside service was conducted Tuesday at White-Lane family cemetery., Winfall, by Pastor Tom McClarden. Twiford's Funeral Home was in charge. Lane was a retired foreman with Royal Silver Manufacturing Co., Norfolk, Va,; and was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. Survivors include three daughters, Carol L. Paris of Hertford, Dorothy L. Vaughan and Andrea Lane, both of Belvedere; two sons, Milton Lloyd Lane Jr. of Moyock and James Lane of Norfolk; a sister, Helen Perry of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Beulah P. Harrell Survivors include one daughter, Mary H. Piland of Corapeake; three sons, Gene Harrell of Scotland Neck and Daniel Harrell of Suffolk, Va.; one brother, Jimmy Pledger of Aulander; 10 grandchildren; and nine grandchildren.
