Sylvia H. Myers
WINFALL - Sylvia Arlene Harrell Myers, 51, of 1021 Crittenden St., NE, Washington, DC died April 16, 2002, at her home.

Myers was the daughter of the late Henry William Harrell and Artleathia Collins Harrell. Her husband, Francis D. Myers Sr. preceded her in death.

A funeral service was conducted April 24, 2002 at First Gospel Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Winfall. Burial was in the Harrell's Family Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Francis D. Myers Jr.; one sister, Annie Riddick of Gatesville; five brothers, Charles Billups of Norfolk, Va., Seyon Harrell of Flint, Mich., Herbert Harrell of Suffolk, Va.; Bishop John Harrell of Chesapeake, Va. and Charlie Harrell of Washington, D.C.

Signa H. Eure
GATES - Signa Holland Eure, 90, a native of Gates County, died April 23, 2002 in Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.

Eure was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Etta Holland. She had retired from Leggett's Dept. Store in Suffolk and was an active member of Reynoldson Baptist Church.

A funeral was held April 26, 2002 in Reynoldson Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Presley and the Rev. Don Stewart officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Reynoldson Baptist Church, Gates, NC 27937 or to the Gates County Rescue Squad, Gatesville, NC 27938.

Survivors include two daughters, Maralinda Doughtie of Eure and Jackie Nelsen of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

John H. Lassiter
GATES - John Henry Lassiter, 79, died April 21, 2002.

A funeral was held April 25, 2002 at New Hope Baptist Church in Gatesville.


Brenda Wiggins
SUFFOLK, Va. - Brenda Wiggins, 54, of the 100 block of S. 12th St., died April 20, 2002.

A funeral was held April 26, 2002 at New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church in Drum
Hill.

Willie E. Riddick
GATESVILLE - The Rev. Willie Edward Riddick, 67, a native of Gates County, died April 24, 2002 in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.

Riddick had retired as a forklift operator for Newport News Shipbuilding. Rev. Riddick was a member of New Middle Swamp Baptist Church; and had pastored at St. James Baptist Church, Elizabeth City; Morning Star Baptist Church, Windsor, VA and First Baptist Roduco, Roduco.

He was a past president of the Roanoke Missionary Baptist. Association and Northeast Bound Union; a member of Lott Carey Foreign Mission and the General Baptist State Conventions; and affiliated with the Jephthah Masonic Lodge No.174.

A funeral was held April 28, 2002 in New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Claude Odom officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Lee Riddick; four daughters, Benita M. Johnson of Sunbury, Deloris A. Branch and Valrie S. Riddick, both of Suffolk and Clara D. Riddick of Gatesville; a son, William C. Riddick Sr. of Gatesville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
