GATES - A funeral for Willard M. Freeman was held July 29, 2002 in Red Oak Grove AME Church in Gates.

Laura J. Guest
CORAPEAKE - Laura Jayne Guest, 43, a native of Cadillac, Mich., died July 22, 2002, in a Norfolk hospital.

Guest was a volunteer for EARS (Emergency Animal Rescue Society).

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to EARS.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Guest; two brothers, Marty Otberg and David Otberg, both of Cadillac, Mich.

Chester Riddick
GATESVILLE - Chester Riddick, 64, a native of Gates County, died July 27, 2002, at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.

A funeral is planned for 11 a.m., July 31, 2002 (Wed.) at New Piney Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Riddick Family Cemetery in Gatesville. Hertford County Undertakers in Winton is handling arrangements.

Survivors include one brother, George Riddick of Gatesville
