Womble, Jr. of Wilson; sister, Dare Vann of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Mary P. Alberta H. Grant A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Murfreesboro by Pastor Elbert Hicks. Burial will be in the Vaughan family cemetery. Tann, Barbara Ann Vinson and Paulete Lee, all of Murfreesboro, Silile Vaughan of Plainville, N.J., Dainia Deben of Queens, N.Y. and Marie Vaughan of Brooklyn; 29 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Earl R. Baker A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Windsor Assembly of God by the Rev. Chuck Gray. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. He served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Emaline Hoggard Baker; two daughters, Frances B. Simmons and Patsy B. McClellan; a son, David Baker; a sister, Alma B. Suis, all of Windsor; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Vashti Godwin A graveside service was conducted Wednesday at Ahoskie Cemetery with the Rev. James Ward. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, was in charge. Mrs. Godwin was a retired seamstress and a member of Brantley's Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Rita Bracy of Mechanicsville, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Maggie Godwin of Ahoskie; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. James E. Boone A service of transition will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville, with Pastor R.E. Rodgers. Burial will be in Picot Cemetery. Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc. Boone was a member of Pulaski Baptist Church where he was the former treasurer and past vice president of the Male Chorus. He also served on the Male Usher Board. He was retired from Union Camp Corp, a member of the Martin Luther King Choir, Scout Master of Troop 91 and held membership with St. Luke Lodge No. 279 IBPOE of W. Survivors include his wife, Mae Elaine Boone; and one brother, Garland Ray Boone of Salisbury, Md. Willie N. Peete Peete was a logger and retired after many years of service. A service will be conducted at noon Thursday at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home. Interment at Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee Peete; two daughters, Jean Roberta Peete and Austrella Virginia Peete; a sister, Marie Jones. Mollie P. Thompson A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Lewiston, by the Rev. Harry Hayes. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be conducted from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and a wake from 6 to 7 p.m. at Wilder's Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Alfredia Butler of Bridgeport, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Thelma Thompson of Philadelphia, Pa., and Caroline Thompson of Ahoskie; one brother, Anderson Pugh of Lewiston; eight grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 60 great-great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-great-grandchildren. |
