Tyler Survivors include two nieces, Betty Tyler and June Tyler Davis and her husband, Everette, all of Richmond; a great-niece and a great-nephew; and many cousins. A funeral will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Severn Baptist Church, Severn, with the Rev. Terry Smolke officiating. Burial will follow at Severn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Severn Volunteer Fire Dept. truck fund, P.O. Box 406, Severn, NC 27877. Massey Funeral Home in Jackson is handling arrangements. Shirley S. Winslow A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Liberty Spring Christian Church by the Rev. Tommy Reynolds and the Rev. Dolan A. Talbert. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Spring Christian Church, 4213 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434. Mrs. Winslow was a graduate of Lakeview Hospital School of Nursing, she worked at both Lakeview Hospital and Obici Hospital and retired in 1988 after 27 1/2 years in the OB/GYN Department of Lakeview Medical Center. She was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church and its Ladies Bible Class. Survivors include husband, Wallace J. Winslow Jr.; two daughters, Brenda W. Horton of Mechanicsville and Kathy A. Winslow of Suffolk; a son, Jay Winslow of Suffolk; two sisters, Ethelyn D. Lewis and Rebecca Lewis, both of Stoney Creek; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. |
