Virginia N. Willingham

ELIZABETH CITY - Virginia N. Willingham, 94, died May 22, 2003.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ahoskie Cemetery. Twiford Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, is in charge.

Brandon D. Bond

EURE - Brandon Darrell Bond, infant son of Brian and Eunice Bond of Gates, was born May 22, 2003, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. However God had already called him home.

A funeral was conducted Monday at Second Baptist Union Church. Interment was in the Grice/Liverman family cemetery, Eure. Abraham Applewhite & Sons Funeral Home was in charge.

Surviving beside his parents are a brother, Brian "BJ" Bond Jr. of the home; a sister, Vicki L. Goodman of Corapeake; paternal grandparents, Percy and Laura Bond of Eure; and maternal grandmother, Eunice Watson of Ahoskie.

James L. Eason

SUFFOLK, Va. - James Lee Eason, 78, a native of Gatesville, died May 23, 2003, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

A funeral was conducted Monday at South Quay Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Holland and the Rev. Louis Venable. Burial with military honors was in the church cemetery. Wright Funeral Home was in charge. The family suggest that memorials be made to South Quay Baptist Church, 9617 South Quay Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.

Eason served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater, and retired from Union Camp Corporation after 40 years of service as a fire controlman.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Gardner Eason; a son, Hubert Grady Eason of Courtland; and a grandson.

Mary J. Crocker

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Mary J. Crocker, 79, a native of Northampton County, died May 21, 2003, in Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk. She was the widow of Dudley Crocker.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by Allen R. McFarland. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Crocker was a member of Calvary Evangelical Baptist Church where she was one of the founding members, and former ushers and an associate pastor's wife.

Survivors include three sisters, Josephine McLeod of Chesapeake, Luzille Garris of Conway and Mary Fannie Boone of Pendleton; and a brother, Robert Garris of Baltimore, Md.

Willie M. Bond

WINDSOR - Willie Mary Bond, 84, died May 21, 2003 at Brian Center.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Indian Woods Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Gilliam Funeral Home is in charge.

Garland Fisher

ROCKY MOUNT - Garland Fisher, 43, died May 22, 2003 at Nash General Hospital.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Gilliam Funeral Home is in charge.
