She was a member of Willow Oak AME Church. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Butler of Ahoskie; three sisters, Julia Butler and Velma Butler, both of Rich Square and Wanda Butler of Woodland. Margie D. Askew LONG ISLAND, N.Y. - Margie Dale Askew, a native of Bertie County, and formerly of Aulander, died May 31, 2003, at Southside Hospital, Long Island. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Metropolitan Interdenominational Church of God in Aulander with Elder Michael Rice. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Windsor. She was a nurse and also past assistant pastor of Metropolitan Interdenominational Church of God and an evangelist at the New Covenant Ministries in Long Island. Survivors include her mother, Annie Rouse of Aulander; children, George Lewis Cherry Jr., Michael Christopher Cherry and Jasmine Lashiva Cherry, all of Long Island; a brother, McClemin Askew of Long Island; sisters, Mary Powell of Bronx, Flora Rascoe of Long Island, Gladys Cherry of Windsor, Magerline Lassiter of Tarboro, Evelyn Mitchell of Middletown, Conn., and Annie Sessoms of Tarboro. Florence B. Howell GATESVILLE - Florence Boone Howell, 88, a native of Gates County, died June 2, 2003, at Down East Nursing Home. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Piney Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Moore. Interment will be in the Taylor family cemetery, Gates. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge. Rev. Frank Lee AULANDER - The Rev. Frank Lee, 83, died June 1, 2003, at his home. A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at Aulander First Baptist Church, Aulander, by the Rev. Dr. Stevie Lawrence. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wilder's Funeral Home, Aulander, is in charge. The Rev. Lee was pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Como and Creeksville Baptist Church, Conway. He was a member of Aulander Town Council. Survivors include his wife, Marie Marsh Lee of the home; three daughters, Irene Foster of Aulander and Lena Askew of Simpsonville, Ky., and Ada Brown of Roosevelt, N.Y.; a son, William Lee of Aulander; and 10 grandchildren. Reather J. Fennell WOODLAND - Reather Jeanette Fennell, 56, a native of Northampton County, died June 1, 2003, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
