Ruth Carr Brown Florence E. Edwards Annie M. Eure Mrs. Eure was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late Elijah and Ellen Harrell Felton. A homemaker, she was a member of Eure Christian Church and a lifetime member of its Ladies Fellowship. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Woodie R. Eure; a son, Walter A. Eure Sr.; a grandson, J.R. ``Jay'' Toxey III; a sister, Chris Dilday; and three brothers, Elijah ``Turkey'' Felton, Leslie ``Sam'' Felton and Noah Felton. Surviving are a daughter, Pat Toxey and husband, J.R. ``Buddy'' Toxey Jr. of Gatesville; a son, Ritchie Eure and wife, Linda of Eure; a daughter-in-law, Rita B. Eure of Gatesville; a sister, Irene Worrell and a brother, Harrell Felton, both of Eure; five grandchildren, Andy Eure, Nita Doughtie and husband, Jeff, Bubba Eure and fiancee Brenda, Nathan Eure and Josh Eure; and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Samuel Doughtie. A funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Eure Christian Church by the
Rev. Wayne Gardner and the Rev. Doug Stokes. Burial will follow in the
church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, in charge. Friends
may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and
other times at the home of her son, 155 Turner Road, Eure. Elsie B. Garrish Mrs. Garrish, born in Ocracoke, was a registered nurse, having graduated in 1938 from Rex Hospital Nursing School. She was a member of the Cape Hatteras Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ocracoke United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Elisha and Emma Gaskins Ballance and the widow of Irvin Scott Garrish. Mrs. Garrish is survived by two daughters, Agnes Garrish Garrish and husband, William and Martha Garrish O'Neal and husband, Ronnie Van; a sister, Lorena O'Neal, all of Ocracoke; three brothers, William Ballance of Nederland, Texas, Elisha Ballance and Maurice Ballance, both of Ocracoke; a grandson, Ronnie Van O'Neal Jr.; and a great-grandson, Ronnie V. O'Neal III. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Ocracoke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joyce Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in the Garrish Family Cemetery, Ocracoke. Family will be at the home of Agnes and William Garrish, Lighthouse Road. Memorial donations may be made to the Ocracoke United Methodist Church or to the Ocracoke Medical Center. Twiford Island Chapel, Hatteras, is handling arrangements. Zenora B. Midgette Mrs. Midgette is survived by two daughters, Ann Johnson of Beaverton, Ore., and Eunice Erickson of Fruitland, Idaho; and a son, Rocky D. Midgette of Salvo, N.C. She is also survived by two sisters, Aldean Beacham and Marie Waterfield, both of Virginia Beach; a brother, Garland Ray Beasley, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held in Hilltop Cemetery, Colington on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Etheridge officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Twiford's Funeral Home, Manteo, and at other times at the home of Tanya and Raymond Wescott Jr., 943 First St., Manteo. Sue B. Scott
