Virginian-PilotMay 10, 2003Laverne D. Walker SUFFOLK -- Laverne Delach Walker, 60, of the 100 block of Raleigh Drive, died May 7, 2003, in Obici Hospital. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Delach and Laverne Kovach Delach. She was a retail manager with Fashion Cents and was a member of Open Door Church, Suffolk. She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Walker of Suffolk; sons, John Walker of Gaithersburg, Md. and Peter Walker of Richmond; six grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Maryellen D. and Les Ceney of Gatesville, N.C.; and eight nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of the Harrell and Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Tony Peaks. Interment will be private. Friends may join the family immediately after the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Suffolk Unit, Memorial Donations, 604 Constance Woods Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434. Margie H.
