Virginian-PilotMay 8, 2003Agnes C. Farless MERRY HILL -- Agnes Cullipher Farless, 88, of the 300 block of Hermitage Road, died May 7, 2003 in Pitt Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Farless was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sophie Mizelle Cullipher and wife of the late Leonard Haywood Farless. Surviving are her daughter, Sarah Lynn Harrell and husband, Richard of Merry Hill; a son, Gene Clark and wife, Rita of Kinston; a sister, Eunice Hinton of Goldsboro; and five grandchildren, Christina Zotek, Scott A. Clark, Lyman Harrell, Rosanna Harrell and Amanda Page Poole; and one great-grandson, Brandon Zoltek. A celebration of Mrs. Farless' life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Conner and the Rev. Al Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. PELHAM -- Johnny Lloyd Moore, 75, of the 700 block of Chandler Mill Road, died May 5, 2003 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Born Nov. 2, 1927 in Stokesdale, N.C., Mr. Moore moved to Pelham in 1978. He was the son of the late Julius Levi Moore and the late Ora May Lemmons Moore. He was a member of the American Legion, Dan River Post 1097 and the VFW. He was a system analyst and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean and Vietnam wars and retired from the Navy and civil service. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Massey Moore of the residence; a son, Ronald W. Moore; a daughter, Patricia Moore Lovelace; and three sisters, Ila Bray, Carrie Barber and Annie Cox, all of Pelham; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by six brothers, Clarence, Bud, Dood, Jack, Al and Dickie Moore. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Swicegood Funeral Chapel, Danville, by the Rev. Jack Wallace. Burial will be in Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Rockingham County, N.C., Route 700. Family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of his daughter, 720 Chandler Mill Road, Pelham.
