I connect to the Tokyo server and consistently get around 50ms latency, which is impressive for gaming from China. The connection is smooth and responsive, with very little noticeable lag.

so far Throughwire is the only working and stable option for whoever lives or spend long time in Mainland China, without having to constantly switch server or worrying to see a zoom call interrupted.

I’m in Beijing and I’ve been using Throughwire for about 3 months now, mainly for ChatGPT, Claude, and YouTube. Works smoothly, so far no issue!

I need the VPN for work rather than leisure, so high speed video calls are important for me. Throughwire is consistent and high quality but the bandwidth is very limiting.

50 to 80 mbps on the download, the same on the upload. Sending 1.5GB file took me like ~10 mins, on the LetsVPN it was like 3/4 hours. It is more expensive, comparing to those mentioned above, BUT it works the best.

I have it installed on multiple devices and a glinet sim router, and it all works fantastic. Super fast speeds, so the bottleneck is never throughwire, which is important because my work relies on high network speeds.

I don’t think it has stopped working even once since I started using it. … Only been using it for 3 weeks so can’t say how it will be long term, but for now I’m really happy with it.

Throughwire VPN works for me in China. It actually works! Install Hiddify and you should be good to go. Wish it was cheaper or having annual plan!

pretty reliable and connects quickly … Using data roaming and eSim is good, but gets interrupted quite often if you have phone call coming

Over priced for so low data cap. Come on, 100GB/month for US$49. And people complain that Astrill is charging US$30/month for unlimited data.

Initially I went with express vpn, but it was super slow in the hotels I was staying at … ultra gave me the edge I needed to get my work files from my home computer.

throughwire works when nord and express both dont work. It gets pretty fast with the us connection and lower ping for me for the ultra connection thru osaka (~60ms). Worked in both beijing and shanghai.

You can watch YouTube on 1080p without buffering and instagram loads instantly too any time of the day. The downside is price but you get what you pay for.

It's def more expensive than normal but it's a lot faster than any of this stuff that used to work (Let'sVPN, which btw stopped working, ShadowRocket, etc). The issue with this is that it has a capacity constraint (100 GB per month)

$49 for 100 GB up to 3 devices per month is a joke. I am paying 20 RMB per month for 2TB shared with 3 devices connected in parallel.

The only VPN which is working for everything, socials, streaming, and smoothly! I wish the data plans were more affordable, and that they would offer more data, at the base plan 100gb doesnt seem like quite enough.

I had a VPN that MS Teams would not work on … Throughwire has been great so far, I have had full speed access to everything that I use here, including streaming services and the usuals like social media, Google etc.
