Router setup

Router routing reference

See how every service is routed.

The router chooses automatically. Local Chinese services use your normal internet connection, while international services use the encrypted Throughwire connection. You never need to change a mode or move a device between networks.

The Featured view shows 48 familiar services. The complete router policy contains 151,698 compiled domain and IP entries.

Direct in China

Chinese apps, local websites, and selected China-hosted platform services stay on the local connection for lower latency and better compatibility.

Through Throughwire

International apps and websites use Throughwire. Anything the router cannot positively identify as China-local also takes this path by default.

What this reference means

Broader than the table

The policy includes 6,973 curated direct patterns, 112,062 China-domain entries, and 5,727 China IP ranges.

International by default

26,936 explicit international patterns use Throughwire before broad China rules are considered. Unidentified traffic also uses Throughwire.

Updated deliberately

We review service families as apps change. A router keeps its installed policy until the setup command is run again after a routing update.

A local service missing from the reference, or behaving as if it is taking the international route? Send us its name and we will check the complete domain family.
